Start with the popular market in East London: Broadway Market, close to Regents Canal and London Fields, every Saturday till around 4pm. Here you find a wide range of local crafts and clothes designers, who sell their precious goods. If you´re looking for fine bakeries and delicious cakes you are at the right place. A German artisan bakery and deli serve typical pastries and bread. Come at lunchtime, grab a curry or crepe from a food stall and sit in the wildflower meadow at London Fields to escape the crowds.

Well Street Market

If you like to explore East London´s smaller markets and get a real experience of the neighborhood come to Well Street Market. Much smaller than Broadway Market but nonetheless lovely. Find some unique postcards and tote bags and check out a lovely little shop: Mahala, which is only open on the weekends. People from the community cook meals and sell them at stalls or pop-up cafés. Buy a Caribbean curry with fresh coconut or Indian Dahl and sit in front of the pub to listen to some live music. Every Saturday.

Farmers Market in Victoria Park

Do you fancy cooking a feast? Do your shopping at a brand new weekly farmers market in Victoria Park. Especially in autumn when the leaves turn red and yellow a glorious place to spend a sunny morning. The market runs every Sunday from 10-3pm and offers seasonal produce including fruit and veg, fresh fish, locally baked bread, cheese, meat, olive oil, pickles, herbs, and spices.

If you like to get a bit further away, rent a bike and cycle along Regent’s Canal to Camden Market. From East London, it’s about a 30 minutes ride. You will pass houseboats and little cafés on the way. At Camden Market go for a stroll and explore the art and craft stalls or treat yourself to a freshly pressed orange juice for only a pound. If you’re coming for brunch, check out the vegan Campell’s Canal Café on Camden High Street. They make amazing vegan cakes as well.
